 International Conference on Speech and Language Technology

Speech and Languages are the fundamental and essential tools for communication among human. In the last decade, IT has changed every walk of life. Today there are various means of communications like e-mail, chat, cellular phones etc. The use of IT has also taken the new industries like call centers into a boom where communication and language skills play a vital role. Now in this scenario, there is an upcoming demand for technologies which make people with diverse background communicate and understand each other making use of Information Technology developments in the area of Speech Recognition and Synthesis. This international conference aims at discussing the issues related to enhancement of technologies in Speech and preparation of future roadmap for development in this direction.
The International Conference on Speech and Language Technology (ICSLT 2004) is an international conference being organized by C-DAC, Noida (India) during November 17-19, 2004. The purpose of ICSLT 2004 is to promote research on Speech and Language Technology by bringing together researchers, practitioners, and language and speech experts at one platform and exchange their ideas and results of their work and expertise developed. The key focus areas of the conference are Speech Synthesis and Recognition technologies, Machine Aided Translation, Multilingual corpora and content creation, Optical Character Recognition and Digital Library.
Many other Government and Non-government organizations are expected to co-sponsor and support the conference and workshop.
