Functionality
The main functionalities provided by the system include:
a) Online Registration Process through which candidates can register for examination. Candidates need to provide their demographic details, choose their examinations, select exam slot timings and make payments (either through payment gateway or demand drafts) for successful registration. Registration is a two-step process: - Candidate registration followed by exam registration.
b) Payment verification Process for verifying payment made through Demand draft. Once the demand draft for a candidate has been received candidate payment details are verified. This is required as admit cards are generated only for those candidates whose payment has been confirmed. In case of payment by payment gateway, verification is not needed.
c) Roll Number and Admit Card Generation process through which Admit cards, containing date of examination & roll number are generated automatically on the date specified during exam creation and thus require no manual intervention. Admit card are generate only for candidates whose payments have been verified and are sent to the respective candidates through email.
d) Question Pool Administration process for creating question pools, question entry operators (DEO), question verifiers or experts, and for generating various types of reports on the question bank.
e) Question Entry system through which questions can be entered under various subject headings. Only authorized user can enter the questions.
f) Question Verification System through which question can be verified and assigned to a particular difficulty level. Question verifier can verify, discard, un-verify or skip a question. Only Verified questions would be included in an examination.
g) Exam Administration which provides the facility for creating examinations, setting up of various exam centers, allocating time slots to the exam centers, generation of question paper, result generation etc.
a) Question Paper Matrix Creation
This is responsible for creating the structure of the question paper of an examination like how many questions it will contain and from what subjects as well as the difficulty levels of the question to be provided. Question papers are generated based on the created matrix.
b) Question Paper Generation
Question papers are generated only for those candidates whose admit cards have been generated and sent. Question papers are unique for each and every candidate. A decryption key unique for each question paper is also generated and is emailed to the respective candidates. This key is required for decrypting the question paper (which otherwise remains encrypted). Without the key the candidate won't be able to see the question paper
c) Examination
Two types of examinations can be created: static and adaptive. In a static examination, questions are fixed for a particular candidate. The candidate can move among sections (question pools) and questions in any order whereas in adaptive examination, questions are administered to a candidate based of his/her previous responses.
h) Exam Conduction system which presents the question paper to the candidate and captures the answers submitted by the candidate for the questions in the question paper. It supports both static and adaptive mode of examinations.
i) Result Generation module which is responsible for generating the results of the candidates from the responses made by them. In static examination, marks are added for a right answer and deducted for a wrong answer where as In case of an adaptive examination, section-wise (question pool-wise) ability is generated instead of marks.
j) Reports generation module is used to generate and view the various reports pertaining to candidate registrations details. This is also used for generation of results but only after the conduction of examination.
Interview Conduction process comprises of Interviewer & Interview controller module. Interview controller module is used for assigning the candidate to a particular Interview Panel. Interviewer module is used by interviewer for grading an eligible candidate. The interviewer can visualize the details of the candidate including his/her personal, qualification, experience etc.
